Schooners Annual Lobster Festival  and Tournament kicks off next Monday in Panama City Beach, Florida, and I can’t wait for it to start!  If you are not a local, you may have never heard of this annual event so let me fill you in on it. First, Schooners is on the east end of Panama City Beach and is known as the last local beach club.  It is an open air restaurant and bar right on the beach and has a large stretch of beach behind it.  This is a local favorite but people that have been visiting Panama City Beach, Florida are also very familiar with Schooners.  Away from the bright lights of Pier Park and the luxury homes going up all over Panama City Beach is this great old school beach bar and restaurant that people have enjoyed for decades and you need to go if you haven’t been already.  The annual Lobster Festival began 28 years ago, and the 28th edition will begin on September 11, 2017. It is a 7-day event with fresh lobsters being prepared in a variety of ways.   The event will have a sand sculpting contest and lobster tournament divers competing in different categories. This festival attracts divers and lobster fans from all over the southeast.  I am neither a diver nor a fan of sand sculpting but I love lobster so much, and I also love music. I am looking forward to treating myself to lobster meals like blackened lobster, steamed lobster, chilled lobster, broiled lobster, sautéed lobster, fried lobster, and even local lobster grilled. Here are the details on the Schooners 28th Annual Lobster Festival and Tournament:
