Mortgage Closing–the Final Step in Financing Your Florida home
- This article describes the mortgage closing process. It’s part of our six-step guide to obtaining home mortgages on Florida’s Emerald Coast.
Signing the Loan Papers at Mortgage Closing
You will sign the final loan documents at mortgage closing. Here, a closing agent, title company representative, attorney, escrow officer, the seller, seller’s agent, and a notary public may also be present. Your broker will provide information on what to expect and may ask you to bring some documents with you. In fact, you may receive some of the forms and documents to review before the closing.
Be sure to set aside enough time for closing so you can read and review all documents carefully. You should not sign until you understand all of the loan terms. And, if items are different than expected, or if you find errors, address those issues before you sign.
After you review and sign the closing documents, the sale is complete.
Congratulations — those keys are yours!
